There are still 50,000 new HIV cases very year, including 1800 in Illinois alone. The Aids Foundation of Chicago wanted to raise awareness of the groundbreaking HIV prevention treatment, PrEP within Chicago’s LGBT community. This campaign offers up the experiences of the heart and flesh that HIV has kept people fearful from fully engaging in, until now. With just one pill, taken once a day, PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) lowers your chances of contracting HIV up to 99%. The campaign featured real couples and respected community leaders in Chicago to promote acceptance. Through honest and visceral photography, we witness couples empowered to create a singular statement of that “transmits” intimacy, instead of HIV.
